Just a heads up, a lot of book stores are carrying reissues of the 1947 red book. I flipped through it real quick. Back then an UNC fugio cent was 10 dollars!

There were two issues, the regular one and one in leather, limited to #500 pieces, already sold out.

Yeah, my wife saw one in town (Borders) the other day. She called me on the cell and asked if I wanted one. I thought she was talking about a 2007 issue and said "nope." Shoulda had my head on straight... Thinking about getting one just for kicks though. I've got a 1962 (my oldest) that was my dad's and even that one eas 6 or 7 years before I started collecting :)

    Take Care

I have a 1947 red book. That is the year that I started collecting coins. I was 16 and working part time on sat. making $.60 an hour. I walked into Gimbels on 33rd st. and was looking at coins in there coin dept on the first floor. The salesman talked me into a unc. 1931-s cent for $2. That's how I became a Numis- maniac.
