After my last big purchase I am for the moment just sticking to the occasional coin I can or think I can get at, bottom-feeder prices. This is the result of my most recent hunt, my second ever Ptolemaic Egyptian coin. For $12 shipped I think I probably did ok. As many of you may know, this is off my familiar collecting path, so any info such as the attribution would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Ptolemy VI Philometor AE Cyprus mint 20 mm, 6.75 g (all this info from the seller)
A great coin for 12 bucks! I don't know if you're familiar with this site, but you could learn just about everything there is to learn about Ptolemaic bronzes. I'm still making my way through the first few articles... http://www.ptolemybronze.com/
