washington quarter missing clad layer

    found this washinton that was solid green on both sides, soaked it in Verdi-chem which removed some of the green color, it might be missing both clad layers as it only weighs 5.0 grams, other clad quarters i weighed are all around 5.7 grams, any suggestions on how to clean it better to see if clad is actually missing without destroying the coin?

    Environmental damage, possibly from being buried in acidic soil for quite some time.

    sounds reasonable, i'll let my kid have at it with his dremel then...... :)

    yeah i have dug a bunch like this with the detector nothing special sadly
