Hi Everyone, I came across this 1952-D in a bag of wheat pennies I got. I have never seen a 1952-D with this much extreme mint mark error. I know in 1952 they still punched the mint marks into the dies by hand and thus created such a wonderful array of mint marks, especially for this year. However, I can only find a variety that is somewhat similar to this one, however, it is not as extreme as this one. Let me know what you guys think.
"flying D" ?? now theres something i never heard of, i like it even more now! gonna hafta recheck all my 52D's!!
Thanks Guys. I too have never heard of the "Flying D", although it does have a nice ring to it. The 52's are probably one of the most overlooked years for common errors and such. Thanks for the input!!
