Over on NGC, it's been reported that this has occurred. It's from KurtB, so take it with whatever granular materials you prefer. I don't see it anywhere else and zip nada on money.org.
If the theft that happened at the 2022 show has not been adequately addressed by the convention center, I can see why they would want to move the show. It's a convenient location (especially for me) but safety concerns can certainly wipe out any benefits of convenience. OKC is a slightly odd choice of where to move the show; although it is still relatively in the center of the country, has enough flights, and is a venue that will take a coin show (given that coin shows aren't the money makers most venues want).
ONA actually has a couple of really nice shows each year. I often drive up because it's a different set of dealers (too far for the usual Houston gang).
Living in OKC I would love to see this happen--easy 2000 to 2500 dollar addition to my coin budget for the show, but I just don't see this happening. With most flights into OKC requiring a stopover either in Dallas or Denver it's too much hassle for the dealers.
Interestingly on the NGC site, one poster says he's talked to ANA staff and it's not true - they're working on a press release. Kurt still says he's right. or ???
Several years ago there was a rival coin show in downtown Chicago and I thought that was the end of the World's Fair of Money. Am I imagining that? Or what happened there? I live near Rosemont so I used to go but I had no interest in going downtown.
There was a smaller world show downtown and then there was one planned for 2017. I don't think it lasted beyond that point though. https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-coins/chicago-coin-expo-making-inaugural-debut.html
Yeah that article says the Chicago International Coin Fair was dissolved. I think that's what I'm thinking of. I had a young kid at the time so I wasn't able to go for a few years.
