    Hello fellow Numismatists,

My 1st Crown arrived at my home this morning...finally. I agree with the man who sold this piece to me that it is an AU specimen. PLEASE guys a bit of help....first, I was wondering if anyone can tell by the pics if this coin looks polished as I think it was. It still has some original luster deep in the devices and a bit of a proof like finish in the fields. It does have some hairlines. Second, What would you say is a fair retail price as if I wanted to sell it?

    Thanks,

If it has been polished as you think, or harshly cleaned, then it is a problem coin and as such would have a greatly reduced value from that of problem free examples.

This one, which has a detail level that looks pretty close to yours to my eye, and is a problem coin, sold for $86.

$60 seems ok. as long as you are happy with it.
