:) Simple to some but special to me. Just found this map safely packed away. I had found the ATB quarters she had saved for my son. My mom got these together and gave the map to my son.

It looks like a fun project. Maps like this were very popular when the State Quarter series was being issued. I saw a number of varieties of them.

Yes mom had bought it years ago. It was nice seeing it again. I have to place a few in there for him. Of course my son is almost 25 yrs of age now but he loved his grandma and when we walked in a room together when visiting, it was like, who is Pam? Lol!

That does make it very special. I and others consider the 2009 Territories and Washington D.C. to be a seperate type than the State Quarters. These were released in 2009, and it is like an afterthought by the mint to continue the most successful coin series. I don't see them included in your map, and they are not included in any of my three kids Whitman Folders for the states. Only those maps and folders made very late in the program include these.

In I think 2008 I bought 3 folders for my kids to make a collection once all were in circulation. It was a long time ago now, but I think I went to the bank two or three times and got quarter rolls. We would sit at the table and I would empty 3 or 4 rolls at a time with them looking for the quarters by state. The ones looked through were placed in a seperate pile with my wife and I putting those back into the rolls. All three of my kids remember this as a great time, and each still have their folders.

I actually looked inside their folders back a few months ago and the coins still look good. Could be popcorn oil is good for protecting coins.

I just now saw a reply you made stating your son's age now, same age as my oldest. I'm sure it will still be special.

That is very special and time spent is the best part! I bout the Deluxe State Quarter album with the D and P mints for each state, etc all the way to 2021 or 2022 I want to say. It’s posted somewhere around. But yes this one, is special. These are not in the best of shape but I have not touched them at all. It’s been through many things and moves lol! Thanks for your story.

I was a little late starting my collection of the State quarters. It was kind of fun. My family found out that I was collecting state quarters, and some had to ask what I was talking about. My "kids" are in the 40's. I didn't get the map of the state quarters, but when my family found out, I was getting all sorts of quarters, let alone state quarters. Mine were finally completed some time in 2020, I think.

Good. Well does not matter the age. I was 58 when I signed on here to begin looking through mom and dad’s. lol that was almost 2 yrs ago. Lol!
I do have a complete on the one I put together a while back. I do have the ones to fill that spots on the map above to complete. I can hear mom above, Pam fill those spots for my “boy”. :)

Shoot, I've got one of those maps layin' around here somewhere. Never filled it but will have to dig it up and have fun with the grandsons pulling stuff from circulation. There's a lot of high quality circulation pieces out there still to be had. :)

Thanks for the memory Pam. :)

I had more fun putting one of those together with my young son back in the day. It got “unassembled” when he got old enough to need cash and I forgot that I had the old folder up in the closet. I think I just may put the old folder back together for old times sake.

Cool!!! Well I did have it stored maybe that’s why the quarters are still there lol. That would be fun to put back together then show it to him. Lol! Post it again when you fill it. :)

Just went thru my quarter jar. Had everything except Florida and Alaska…. But the most fun was using the Quartermaster’s counter struck quarters. I had been wondering what to do with those. That would be fun filling the book with his quarters.

I do have a question. I did find the ones I was missing. South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin. It just hit me that the obverse of all the others I have not seen. I do not want to mess up the map. Should I just stay curious? Lol!

I really love the idea of the map for statehood quarters. It is a great way to get young collectors into this hobby! My daughter took over my map (I have albums now), by herself and completed the series! Now she is working on Nickels and Lincoln cents.

I put together a complete uncirculated set including proofs, but they are in an album, my kids were too old at the time. I had my oldest daughter collecting some but she was only interested in silver, the other kids were like their mother, wouldn't save a fart in an elevator full of people.
