I think they look really nice but was hoping some of you out there with trained eyes could give me an expert opinion. Also, those are the flips my grandfather had them in and I don't know what was originally written and then scratched out on the flips. Also, should I leave them in those flips or put them in different ones that don't have those markouts? I don't want to damage the coins by taking them out so wanted to get advice on that as well since I have absolutely no experience with coins.

Were these taken with a scanner?

The current flips give it no extra value but if you don't have new flips, you might as well leave them in there. I'm guessing these are scans but they do appeared clean but then again scans tend to make coins looked cleaned. What is scratched out is most likely the price he paid or what knot. as for the monetary value, I am not sure of hand. The CC Morgan does carry a nice premium over melt (About $17 in silver per coin).

Thanks for the reply! You are right about them being scans. I tried just taking a photograph but I just couldn't get the photographs to turn out clear.

Why the devil do you guys insist on 'thumbnails'? Post the blasted larger pics. Peter has allowed us the option of posting larger pictures so why not take advantage?

Well I am brand new to the site so I didn't realize that was such a big deal. I thought you could just click on the thumbnails and it makes it bigger.

Sometimes people choose to add thumbnails if the original image is too large, or if they have lots of images and don't want to make their post super big...does it honestly make a big difference if it just takes an extra click to view an image? C'mon, greenie...

    to the OP: Nice Morgans!

It makes a difference if I can't view a large image. Thumbnails remain rather small image wise on my computer. Peter has afforded us the option of uploading large files so why not take advantage of it? I can't blasted give an opinion on minuscule, limpy, lacking, small (thumbnail) pics..........

You can't click it to enlarge the image? I can click the above thumbnails and they will expand to full size...

They were taken with a scanner. Is that bad? I tried taking photographs but they just didn't come out clear.

Haha it's no problem. I just added the full size since you weren't able to view the thumbnails. What do you think of the coins?
