I picked up some silver certificates at the bank yesterday. They were 1957 and 1935's (20 total). There aren't really any special ones as far as I can tell, but they are pretty cool for me since this is the first time I have found any notes that are earlier then 1976. Most of them are really beat up, but these two are in pretty good condition.

There were also three star notes in there. coins 034.jpg

I also thought these two were neat. The one is a trinary bookend (I believe that is the term for it at least). The other one I thought was cool that it started with five 3's, however, that one is taped together though. coins 036.jpg

Can't go wrong for FV! The IA and MA block notes are in unbelieveable shape for a circulation find! Good work!

Thanks harris I appreciate it. I was definitely surprised to find any in that shape as well. I probably won't keep all of them since most are really beat up, but I will definitely be keeping those two.

Make sure you check the blocks and plate numbers on the 1935 SCs, some are quite scarce. 1935 QA block, mules, AB/BB/CB experimentals, etc.

Thanks Harris, I checked them out and they are not experimentals, Hawaii or North African. They do not appear to mules either. How can I find out which blocks are the rare ones? Mine are NI, GI, EI and GH (they are all series E).

Well, what are common 1957 Silver Certificates selling for these days in Choice63 and 64. I have a few I might let go if anyone is interested. I think I have a few that are in sequence, like 2, then 4 of them and them 3 of the x 5. Let me know both questions please. G

Don't get them graded, because the grading fees will outweigh any possible premium on these notes, unless it comes back 68 or better.

A CH CU 1957 $1 SC should sell for about $3-$6. You might be able to hit the higher end of the range if you have consecutive notes.

As far as the stars, the *D block is the most valuable, and goes for about $10 in VF and $45 in CU. The other star notes are worth ~$5 in the condition shown.

Thanks funkee I appreciate it. I honestly didn't expect the stars to have any premium in this condition so I am glad to hear your input. I will most likely keep the IA and MA and three stars and release the rest back into the wild. Thanks again for all of the input everyone.
