I take a little break and you start making stories. 1896 eh? were you there for the grand opening? nothing to worry I am back now
Very interesting. The way I collect doesn't take into account labels. My ASE's have many different labels, we'll some anyway. The main focus is dates. If a can make a run of eagles, I don't care what the label says. Might be shortsighted but it works for me. I don't pay extra for FS that I'm aware of. As long as the dates are the ones I need I'm a happy collector.
In all things, when something becomes what it never should have been, there will be a correction. Those TPG's with integrity will stay and the other's will either follow suit or be gone. Could you imagine that one day all NGC coins, for example, could become suspect. That $20K coin you purchased could suddenly be worth, say $5K. Collectors and speculators will be the ones getting hosed and said TPG will leave with their tales tucked yet their coffers will be full. Only thing negative toward the TPG is that their profit stream is suddenly removed. Why go out of business? Just slap a new name on your TPG and do business as usual.
