I have had to enforce a coin hold on myself until my birthday to save up for a nice present for myself but I still had a couple coins on the way and they just arrived yesterday. I tell ya it was a stupidly awful week so if you want to just get to the coins scroll down but I am going to have a short rant. First work was incredibly busy which isn't a bad thing it makes the days go by fast but is exhausting. My girlfriend and I came home on Wednesday to find a nice note under the door with a notice from the caretakers saying they needed to check our apartment for bug infestation. My girlfriend is the panicy type called the landlord immediately to figure out what the heck was going on. Turns out the apartment above us and below us has a fairly intense cockroach infestation and they were wondering if we had seen anything. Sure we had one or two bugs but I just figured they were getting in from that small hole in our screen. She essentialy says 'well if they aren't there yet they will be soon' so they check and find a couple bugs. My caretaker is awesome though and was able to get exterminators in right away Friday but that meant essentially tearing apart the apartment so they could spray. I have now managed to get my apartment back together and everything put away but it was a stressful couple of days. It frustrates me so much that we got cockroaches in our place from other peoples mess (my gf is slightly a neat freak). On top of all of that the power adaptors for both of our laptops failed so I had to sink some money into buying new ones today so we had access to our laptops. But I am a brightside type of person and Friday when I got home I had 8 coins waitings in my mail (4 were modern). Also Arsenal and the Bisons won today and I got to see a bunch of people at the football game so the weekend has been all right. Anyways end rant. All of the coins come from the ebay accounts of people who frequent the various forums! I would do a coin a day like stevex6 but I don't have the self control right now First up Caracalla AE Denarius Rome AD 216 Obv. ANTONIVS PIVS AVG GERM laureate bust right Rev. I have been looking for a decent Caracalla for awhile (my other one is junk) and am quite pleased with this one for the price. Thanks for sitting through my rant! These are the last coins for me until the birthday present to myself. I am more excited for the day before my birthday than the day itself. I get to go to a coin show AND a jets game. Cheers
The first coin is awesome => you had me at "biga of bulls"!! The second coin => (not in my comfort-zone) is an awesome looking "Christ-coin" (how can ya miss, right?) The third coin => blah-blah-blah => desert patina!! ...... total Rock-Star!! => once again, well done comrade!! (you make me very proud to live in this province!!) cheers, dawg!!
I particularly like the full legend Constantine. Many of these are on small flans but this is a nice coin.
Great coins and I'll take any of the three. I think they may be infested with cockroaches, so just send them my way and I'll take care of the problem.
Very nice coins, congratulations! Be thankful it's only cockroaches and not bedbugs. We had a bedbug problem years ago, and there was no getting rid of them. We sent everything we owned to the dump and moved.
I always enjoy the coin compliments from you guys (mainly because I have seen your coins and they are all drool worthy). Bing - don't get talking like that because my girlfriend might up and ship the coins! JA - I know what you mean I used to be a Residence Advisor in a 400 person residence. One word of bed bugs and everyone would be in a panic. A friend of mine is the Dean of Residence on the campus I work at and he spent the majority of last summer removing the furniture of every room in his building and bringing new furniture in because of the nasty little critters Steve - Take off you hoser! Nice pic
love the bull reverse, that is fantastic....and agree with DS...full legend on the that constantine and the patina make it a total win coin. great np's WB...nothing makes a crap week better than some fine coin.....cognac helps also helps.
I admit I like the Constantine the most too. Its a scarce coin well centered on a good sized flan like that. Those Class I's are fun, there are just tons of reverse types on them.I have like five and have not even scratched the surface.
?? enochian. The caretaker is the person who takes care of the building I live in since my 'landlord' is a company that owns a series of buildings. They hire a person to live in the building and deal with any problems in the building. Caretaker =/= caregiver Also I like how the coin that gets the best reviews I paid the least for. Just goes to show you that the bigger the price tag does not necessarily mean the better the coin
Or maintence. When you said caretaker i was thinging a old person who cant take care of them selfs and need a caregiver
