I just purchased this 1849 Coronet Cent for my 7070 book. It didn't have a grade on it, but I was satisfied with the condition. What do you think? I apologize for the pics, I don't know how you guys get them so clear?
I agree. TPGs would likely agree too. EAC would say VF or so. Also, 1849 is one of the tougher late dates to find in this condition and problem-free. Nice coin, perfect for the 7070, and thanks for sharing...Mike
Guys: Is it the lighting or is the obverse lighter (possibly cleaned) than the reverse? Not criticizing, just wondering? Still, very nice coin.
I took some pics with a flashlight and without, and used to two that showed the best detail. I wasn't satisfied with the grainy detail I was getting with just the flash on the obverse. I still don't know how the rest of you get such great pics..???
takeing pic threw plastic is a pain in the rarend, teust me i know. I would say the coins VF from those pics, its hard to tell becuase of the size.
That sounds like some of the stuff I've tried I've tried flashlights, candles, every type of lightbulb known to man - even used a Coleman lantern once. Always searching for that perfect light source for coin pics. You can do a search here on CT, there have many threads on how to best take coin pics. A few simple tips - always use the macro function, never use the flash, use GE Reveal lightbulbs and always use a tripod or copy stand. After that, just experiment with adjusting your camera settings until you get the pics you want.
