While I was at a coin show buying a new Valerian, you were here changing to Gallienus. It is hard to keep up with the wanderings. I did see a great early silver Gallienus but I left it due to the amount I had already spent and settled for a lesser Valerian. This Valerian is from the style I consider rather young looking for Valerian and the good silver suggests it is from very early in the reign. I'll need to research the mint and details so for now it is just another joint reign coin.

I'm sure that even Bing would be very proud of me (and proud of Batman), for together, we managed to settle upon a very nice price for this slightly brittle looking, yet awesome example of Salonina!! (thanks again for the nice-price, my friend)

    :)

Nice looking Salonina. Her portrait makes her look a bit ditzy or drunk. Couldn't have a better match :p.

Here is one of my favorites of her:

    AR Antoninianus
OBV: SALONINA AVG, diademed and draped bust right, resting on crescent
REV: DEAE SEGETIAE, statue of Segetiae or Ceres, nimbate, standing facing in four-columned temple, both hands raised
    Struck at Lugdunum, 258AD
