    Hi All,
I've been searching through cents since about mid-August and just added up the totals on what I found; I'd be interested to hear how it compares to people in other parts of the country.

    Total Searched: 200,000 (=$2,000.00)

    Civil War Tokens: 1
    Indian Head Cents: 6
    Pre-1940 Wheats: 134
Wheat Cents, total: 1252 (including three 1943 steel!)

    Varieties-
    1972 minor DDOs: 7
    1994 DDR: 2
    1997 Doubled Ear: 6
    1998 Wide AM: 2
    2000 Wide AM: 24

    Foreign-
    Canadian: 2380 (about 1 in 84, I'm definitely in a border state!)
    Bermuda: 9
    Bahamas: 9
    Misc: 16

    Oddities / Misc-
    Proof Cents: 2
Plastic Play Money Cents: 3 (each a different kind- weird)
    Obverse CUD: 1

I only did $20 myself this year.

Found about 15 wheat cents 1940-1958
    20 or so canadian cents

And a few really nice condition bright red cents from '64 and '69 that i hung onto.

Very nice totals! Especially that CWT! And SIX Indians! What dates? Anything better?

Thanks! No really great dates for the indians (not that I'm complaining!), just 1893, 1897, 1900, 1901 and 2x 1903.

we went through a full large coffee tin of pennies lastnight and end up finding 5 wheat pennies and 2 canadians... 1944, 1953, (2) 58's, and a really bright 57...better than nothing!

a couple of days ago I went through all the change in the house and got one 1945 wheat penny...and one 1962 silver dime

now i'm looking for more change stashes...might have to go to the bank soon.

Thanks! It definitely requires some perseverance but if you stick with it you'll find interesting things.

Were these just pocket change, or rolls bought from Banks, Stores, Family...etc?

I was thinking of doing the same thing for Nickels starting on 1/1/07, and running it as long as I can resist the urge examine them! LOL

IHC-2 Both were oddly in VF
    Canadian-around 300-500
And I only had 2 foriegn coins that I can remember-One Euro and One token

They were all either boxes or bags from local banks, acquired in the past few months. Actually it was the same few hundred dollars that kept getting turned in for new cents, so I didn't have them all at the same time. Good luck on your nickel search!

2 IHC out of $50 is pretty amazing- were they from the same bag / box?

Great searching. Your record keeping has planted a seed for my own searches in 2007. I particularly like to search half dollars, but I've never bothered to compile my results. A new project. Thanks -- I think.

Thanks- I do search halves as well but cents are so much easier to get a hold of, and have much more varieties, that I started searching them as well. Good luck on your search!
