Hey guys ! Yet again, it's time for America's favorite home fun game "Attribute THIS !!!" This time, it's one of my true favorites - a Draped Bust dollar ! Your analysis of die marriage, and the rationale you used to arrive at that conclusion, are humbly solicited; your opinion as to grade is always welcomed. My spin - Surely this is the most utterly gorgeous image of Liberty we ever produced. So beautiful, so feminine... This portrait of Liberty debuted in 1795... when the Mint was only three years old ! Mighty fine work for such fledgling talent. Equally as impressive is the mighty Heraldic eagle. It was a vital message to a threatening and unstable world that we were a force to be reckoned with. Yes, America was destined to be the mightiest of nations... but, when newborn, even the legendary Hercules was weak, broke, and vulnerable. The earliest days of our Republic were perilous indeed; having cast off the British Empire, our merchant marine lost the protection of His Majesty's Navy on the high seas. They were no longer our friends. The French who befriended us in our Revolution had a revolution of their own only two years after our victory. They were no longer our friends. They had no friends, and were the deadliest of pirates on the water. We had few friends, and the most potent military machines in history were openly hostile. Our Founding Fathers knew well our coinage carried our message, our values - and a warning if necessary. The images on our coins were a beacon of hope and Liberty, but also a show of strength and resolve. With that, my friends, enjoy the best of the early Mint's art. your friend, Ricky B TNA Region 4 Governor 900fine
