A lady on one of our local thrift sites has a coin like this for sale. She's asking $500 for it because this guy below is selling one on eBay for $495 for it. She said she took it to a local coin shop and confirmed that it was the same error, but the dealer would pay nowhere close to 500 bucks. I messaged her and explained that the eBay price is the buy it now price and nobody seems interested. What do you think an error like this would sell for? http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUGE-DIE-BR...83?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3385c6f37b
Personaly I might put out a $20 for it but beyond that hell no. as Treashunt stated is a die break and while it is a great error I wouldn't put much more of a premium on it then any other die crack/break. BTW that is $20 for the "slabbed" one, raw I might offer a fiver
Five to ten dollars was what I was thinking. It's interesting but just a novelty to me, not something I actually need for my collection.
1) Agreed 2) Agreed 3) Disagree - to me it looks like a mark left by an inclusion that dropped out after the strike.
