    I have not seen many of these and don't know how to read the date/denominations on them. What year and denomination is it? And is it worth $5?

    looks like a thailand Y#33a, denomination-salung=1/4 baht, silver
    not sure what year it is?
    grade/value
    F=$20.00-30.00 VF-$40-60
    first year... F-$100 VF-$200
    not sure what your coin grade is ?
    I think it is worth at least $5.00 maybe more... I am not sure what the grade is ???. there is a Thailand coin collector here that could tell you exactly what it's worth.

    nice coin. what year is yours ? I do NOT believe his or your coin is the 1 baht coin. if you look at the catalog the 1 baht coin has thai writing just right of the man facing left right shoulder in the right side of the field.

    Thanks guys. Someone is work with has this and isn't sure what it is either. I have tons of foreign coins but only one other thai coin. They suggested $5 for it but I want to give them a fair price and not over pay either.

    I've got mine for $ 1 only. Thailand is very popular place for Russian tourists. That is why we have a big number of cheap Thai coins in Siberia. As for me, I have big collection of Thai coins.

    $5.00 dollars is a fair price for that coin if it is 1/4 baht silver...if it's the 1 baht coin then it is copper-nickel worth from 10-50 cents.

    1962 one baht. One of the most common Thai coins you will ever find. I would not pay $5 for it in pristine condition, let alone vg. Its a $.25 junk bin coin in that shape op.

    Not trying to bad mouth the coin, but its as rare as a vg 1962 us cent or nickel effectively. I see BU rolls of them on ebay at times for $10 or so.

    Standard baht coin. Exchange rate: 3-cents (give or take). Probable value: 10-cents. It's kind of in really bad condition. The total mintage was 883 million or thereabouts. And, yes, 1962. I think the upper right third of the wording (พ.ศ.๒๕๐๕) is what identifies the year (2505).

    Btw, we clearly know this is not Y33 since that was Rama V and this coin is Rama IX. Once you get used to the portraits they are easy to distinguish even without reading Thai.

    As an interesting fact, Rama IX is the world longest reigning monarch, having reigned since 1947 I believe.
