Man, I absolutely love this cool coin!! ... look at that bugger!! => he is either hiding in the reeds, waiting to surprise attack an enemy ......... or he's scared to death of that flying pig!!!? Very rare Sorry TIF ... => man, I really do love ya, but I was already b-deep into this bid when you gave me that PM (I owe ya one ... I will definitely bow-out if I see your name on my next bid-coin ... thanks)
ahahaha => that's awesome!!whateva ... you admitted that my bid was "robust-enough" to scare ya!!... you rock, coin-sister!!
Small coin. Again, I have to be impressed with the amount of detail in such a tiny space. I almost bought a Tetartemorion the other day - now THAT's tiny.
Yeah, I figured the bidding would go higher than I wanted to pay. I'm shocked at the hammer price. Happy for you. Well, sorta.
Steve another cool look'in coin, you got your animal and your nude guy going on.. I think this coin is where they came up with pigs fly...
Ever seen an hemitetartemorion (BIG name, tiny coin) ? [Not that you could actually see it if you were looking at one ] http://www.cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=210346 Great [small] coin Steve !
*awkward* ... huh, that is a bit odd that these last two coins had nude dudes in 'em, eh? (uh-oh => By-man strikes again?!!) => ahaha ... doubtful!!
=> yah TIF, but like you said in one of our PM's => at least once you realized that you were bidding against me, you didn't bid-up the price (thanks ... I'm sure that saved me a couple of hundred bucks on this baby!!) ... see, this site is useful!!
that's another fantastic coin stevex...is that a "pigasus"? how cool! interesting obverse also, no pants and a helmet? that's called "saturday night" at my house.
ahaha => yup, just another night of "tag, you're the hoplite!!" ... good times!! "Honey ... I'm home!!"
I am actively seeking pigasus coins. Dang, they're all so expensive. If any of you have one to sell or trade, let me know. Most of them are from Mysia and Ionia. Tiny, usually pretty rough shape, but I'll take 'em. Got my eye on several auctions in the coming few weeks, plus a bunch of fixed price bookmarks.
Cool and interesting coin but I dont care for the surfaces. Hopefully it was a good deal but I admit I have never seen the type before.
A great coin! The history behind the Persian Empire, including it`s Satraps, are one of the areas I am looking to study soon (once I finish all my Roman and Greek Books by Caesar, Tacitus and Homer)
