Well, that Gallienus probably didn't look much better the day it came out of the mint.

Keep the Gs coming. What do you say we change to H this afternoon just to keep this thread moving at this great speed?
Perhaps Windchild will tell us to move onto H this afternoon assuming the G posts fizzle-out.

    Keep the momentum going.

I put it as 2 days per, so people who don't have the time to come every day (ie me) can post their coins.

I would say keep it to 2 days per, because of that.

    Groovy.
Tomorrow (Friday) at noon someone can begin posting H.

P.S. I was able to get this edit in after seeing Bing & Steve6x posts. I just got tickets to see the play Hair. We are in row B seats 1-3 on the aisle so I'm sure that we will be in the thick of it all. Our plan is dress in hippy fashion that day. I was just feelin groovy when posting. Now back to the letter G for Groovy.

    Byzantine Empire
    Heraclius
    A.D. 610-641
    Æ 6 Nummi
    1.77 grams, 15.7 mm
    Obv: Cross potent
    Rev: Large S

Heraclius was Byzantine Emperor from 610 to 641. According to Wikipedia, he was responsible for introducing Greek as the Eastern Empire's official language. He apparently reorganized the Byzantine imperial administration and the imperial armies and strengthened the Empire in the process.

This coin was purchased this last Sunday as part of a small batch (paid a few dollars per coin). At that time I knew nothing about the coin(s) & they were purchased for the fun of figuring them out. This “S” coin ends up being issued under the ruler Heraclius. Now I get to post something under “H”.
