As Doug has pointed out many times in this forum, Galba's coins represent some of the most distinctive artistic styles of any Roman coins. My modest collection of four:

    AE Dupondius (13.55 g.) Rome 68 AD
IMP SER SVLP GALBA - CAESAR AVG TR P Laureate and draped bust r. Rev. PAX AVGVSTA Pax standing left, holding olive branch and caduceus; S - C in field

    7a - Galba AE dupondius - dual.jpg

    GALBA 68 - 69 A.D.
AE Sestertius (28.10 g.) Rome late summer 68 AD
IMP SER SVLP GALBA - CAESAR AVG TR P Laureate and draped bust r. Rev. LIBERTAS - PUBLICA Libertas standing l., holding pileus and long scepter; S - C in field

    7b - Galba AE sestertius - dual.jpg

    GALBA 68 - 69 A.D.
    AR Denarius (3.71 gm.) Tarraco (?) April - late 68 A.D.
Laureate head of Galba, globe at point of bust / Virtus

Keep the Gs coming. What do you say we change to H this afternoon just to keep this thread moving at this great speed?

Since I have so few Roman coins or Greek coins which have associated ruler names, I'm posting this Germanicus & Drusus again. (any opportunity to show it off, it's one of my faves :) )

    Restruck with ring-shaped dies.

And also because I don't like feeling left out of this thread I'm posting this utterly awful and common Gallienus, from a large batch of uncleaned coins-- most of which are slugs, a few may be identifiable. Never finished cleaning them because I moved on to higher quality coins. They're all still soaking in distilled water or olive oil.
