We live in the heart of Amish territory. Some folk have to contend with the noise of stench of the city, whereas we have the clatter of tireless buggies, clomping horses, and the aroma of manure. However, it's a curious fact that living among the Amish doesn't mean you know anything about them. They are a reclusive and private people. I suspect the whole Amish Mafia business is a Hollywood concoction, but who knows?
I live near Amish and they are nothing like these TV Amish - they keep to themselves, are polite and industrious. I wish more people were like them actually.
BTW Stevex6 - my avatar is much better looking than yours, and she really is talented... and funny too.
=> thanks, TIF ... yah, I managed to scoop 2 outta 3 of my targets (coming soon to a thread near you!!)
Well bummer. No wins for me today. In CNG the other coin I was going to try for rapidly became higher than I wanted to pay so I didn't even bid. I bid on 4 coins in the HD Rauch auction-- didn't understand their auction process at all but placed a bid sheet last night. No wins. I have no idea if they had a live online auction, live in-person auction, or what. All I know is they hammered for a little more than my max bids I have many other lots of interest and plan B lots in upcoming auctions so maybe I'll hit something on my list.
Holy cow I've gone off the deep end and need to step back and think about what I really want. Too many auctions, getting auction fever. Straying too far from the list! Danger, Will Robinson!
I'm not surprised, after some of the top-shelf stuff you bought recently. But hey, tomorrow's another day and another paycheck, right?
Not going so well right now. Trying to work and bid at Goldberg at the same time (stressful!). The one coin I most wanted became a bidding war and I dropped out after it became twice as high as any prior comps (uncommon and not a great specimen)... Sigh. Well, I'll find one someday.
