So a coin dealer is the one telling you that these coins you are finding are the real deal?

Tommy, drop the attitude! you can disagree with members opinion on your coin, without making it personal. If you don't like a person's opinion, either don't answer to it, or stick to the coin. You convince a person you are correct by logical discussion , and not by basic insults about what you think their knowledge level happens to be. I do not see it as a DDO.

Jody is not perfect, but he is more knowledgeable about die varieties than either you or I. You have 6 people telling you it is not a doubled die. I suppose we will all find out what the correct assessment is after it comes back from a TPG. By the way...which TPG was it sent to? PCGS? NGC? ANACS?

    Speaking of the original coin.

I do not see an exact duplicate. The one you mark with an oval is more rounded and not the exact size of the actual one. Also non_cent remark about how could such a large separation be only on the nose and not on the other features is a good one. The obverse die is a single piece, and if a doubling had occurred during a hubbing, there can not be ONLY a large separation doubling in one specific area without some also occurring close by.

I don't believe PCGS certifies non-Cherrypicker varieties, much less supposedly "new" varieties...did you specify that you wanted variety attribution when you spoke to the dealer? Otherwise, PCGS is just gonna slab it with a grade and that will be it.

And no, the second coin you posted is not a doubled die either. It appears to be 2 plating blisters on Lincoln, and a die chip in the B.

Lol I dont understand how? look at the line on the original nose and then
look at the line on the duplicate. then look at the original nostril and then
look at the duplicate how cant you see that? then tell me what could this be then
that made a duplicate of the nostril and the line coming from the nostril?

I did it through a dealer. its funny that I feel like Im being pushed against the wall
and being indirectly called a liar. I was asked by the moderator not to insult
anyone which I haven't. so for now im not going to respond to this thread.
thanks for the input it was much appreciated.

No one is calling you a liar. We all see the same thing that you are seeing, the difference is, we don't think it is a doubled die and you do. Let us know what PCGS says.

PCGS? Wow. $50 down the drain and they will only show the grade on the slab.

The second coin is not a DDO.

So you had your local coin dealer send it in to be graded? :D I will be amazed if it comes back as a DDO and I will also admit that I was wrong, not a big deal. We'll see, that's all I can say. So how much did your coin dealer charge you if you don't mind my asking?. cheers!

Oh, I should have read further, I see you paid $50. Wow, that's $25 a nostril, what do you pay for eyes? j/k

If... IF (har har) he actually sent to PCGS, you already know the verdict (per post #10). Just sit back and wait for the documentary on his fabulous variety finding road trip.

Same as the 1996, one post down. Tommy, if you ever do decide to study up on this stuff, you are gonna be embarrassed by some of these posts. I don't know your age, but I'd be willing to bet that some of these people that you are calling "WRONG" have been studying varieties longer than you've been alive.
