Mint Finish Error ?

    Roll searching and found this 2001 D. I don't know if this finish was done at the Mint or PMD ? Thanks for your time !

    It looks like either environmental or chemical damage.

    I thought at first but what got me to questioning PMD was the fact it only affected the low portions and is inside the letters ? Perhaps that does mean PMD, I didn't know.

    To me it looks an awful lot like gold paint. Notice how it wore off in the unprotected areas? I'm afraid that one's pretty much worth 1¢.

    Environmental concerns weren't nearly as bad when the Lincoln's were 95% copper, but now that they are mostly zinc...............yuk!
