By and large I'm a 'penny guy'. Sometimes I'll grab some nickels when I'm at the bank when I want to do some nickel cherry picking to mix things up. So that's what I did. Bought my usual amount of nickels at the bank -- 15 rolls. Roll #9... re-read the title of the post. I still haven't touched it since I spread them out a bit. Rubbed my eyes. Walked around the room for a minute (or 20), and then grabbed my camera. Will post back later on this thread after I go through them. Today, I have NO, zero, zip, nada complaints.
Would seem unbelievable, but then I have opened up rolls and found similar type stuff. Earlier this summer found a solid roll of silver Roosevelt dimes - I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't just dreaming.
that would be off the charts fantastic for me. i search dime rolls. my last $100 in dimes was a skunk! the $100 before that i found my first 1924-D merc dime. that really made me happy.
That is just amazing. Funny thing though.......for all the roll searching I did as a kid back in the sixties I never found one Liberty Head nickle or Indian Head cent. Tons of buffs but zilch on the others. You roll search guys on this forum absolutely astound me with what you find..........

Very cool find for sure! Although, when I see something like this you have to wonder how it got there. Was it an old collector who passed away and his family dumped them because they are just nickels? Did they fall on hard times and need that money right away? On the scarier/worse side of the spectrum, were they stolen? Maybe just a young child who didn't realize what they were or an actual thief? I dunno, just some of the things I wonder about haha.
do you think a kid rolled these up from his fathers collection to buy...ice cream ? lol refresh my memory...was'nt one of the V nickels or CC dimes known as the ice cream coin ???
Something that has very much crossed my mind since a few minutes after them all pouring out in front of me. I thought, "Who the **** would roll these up and hand them into the bank?!". Then I found one of that the 1937 P has a 20 degree rotation... and I forgot all about it. Ha-ha No, the thought has crossed my mind more than a few times.
awesome find!! very rare to even find CWR's in my area, everyone uses coin machines now, theres like one in every bank and supermarket.............
