Went to my pobox to get 3 coins. And only came away with 2. Of the 3 I'm glad it was this low value coin versus the other 2. I guess overall it isn't a horrible loss either. This one was this kennedy half. The other 2 cost more. And one of those was an old blue anacs holder with a Washington quarter proof. Glad that coin wasn't lost. This disappeared about a week then showed up one day. I guess it must have gotten jammed in a sorter. It is always best to completely cover packages like this in tape. It makes them harder to rip open like this.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your coin. After my post office wouldn’t deliver my package to the house I have now switched to UPS delivering them. And I’m retired postal management.
These made it though! I love the quarter, it's toning, and the old holder! Seller was only asking 60 for the dime. And the pcgs price guide is 125.
I highly recommend that if this has been an issue on going.... Call your representative and voice a complaint, I did after several issues including stolen items, ktems being stuck in a postal location that hasn't moved...etc... Best thing I ever did... the postal inspector got things done....one hates to go this route but ...since that time no problems. Knock,on wood
Meow knows the feeling. Meow has had many, many things Meow bought on Fleabay arrive damaged due to Post Office abuse.
Sorry about that Meow - the only cat allowed to play with things in the cat hoard should be Meow. I have a totally different opinion about the postal inspectors. When I was working in Olympia, WA I had a package arrive slit open and the contents gone. I had to make a huge fuss at the station to even get the postmaster to send the package off to the Postal Inspectors in Seattle. Who did what? Returned the package in the overwrap apologizing it was damaged in transit. Useless twits.
Living in the country about 20 miles from town, we live down a dirt road and they won't deliver there, so I have a mailbox at the paved road that the dirt road meets. I had some problems for a while, so I spoke to the Postmaster (or is it "Postmistress"). She suggested that I have packages held at the post office. I find out that there is a package waiting for me by a "orange" ticket notifying me that "You've got Mail!" It's a pain, but I haven't lost any packages yet.
