Am I missing something here? Or is this just a bidding war between a bunch of idiots? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1954-S-fran...72?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item4ac908bd50
It is a nice looking Franklin, but I always have a hard time paying that much for anything without an in-hand inspection, let alone buying it on ebay.
Use the right descriptors and there'll always be people to flock to your listing. That coin doesn't even appear to be FBL. Just think what would have happened in the seller mentioned FBL.
I have to admit that the one was pretty good, but other than that, the negs and neutrals, while deserved IMO, are from people who clearly should not buy coins online or from photos.
I think on a lot of these bids people have the mentality that they don't want the other person to have it so they'll drive it up a lot in hopes that if they can't keep up with the price they can at least force the other person to lose a lot of money in punishment. I've seen some pretty ridiculous bids...
Incorrect. This coin does not appear to be a doubled die. The doubling you are seeing can most likely be attributed to light reflection and die wear.
