hi all, i have an old file cabinet that sets right next to my internet computer desk , and went digging through it to find my daughters social security card. in the bottom of a drawer i found a sandwich bag full of coins and tokens...had no clue it was there. turns out my wife's uncle gave then to her years ago, she stuck them in(i may have known they were there at one time...) ...oh at least 10 years ago. nothing amazing but some pretty neat little coins, a few are silver. plus a few from places i wanted, like newfoundland and haiti.
Cool man. I love that feeling. I love buying misc piles and just putting them aside. A few year later you find them again, can't for your life remember buying them, so its like getting free coins!
Medoraman - I seem to be doing the same thing... ...opened up a box I forgot was with my coins. Had a bag of random gemstones (mostly CZ and costume jewelry stuff) and I decided to just finally check if I had anything valuable. Found a 3/4 carat diamond. Yikes. Where the heck did I get this bag?
You know, my wife had a similar stash, from her travels in Europe. Neither of us had any interest in keeping it, so I dumped it on eBay for $20, and we got a nice breakfast at a diner out it.
