for me it was an 1847 large cent in a roll of franklin halves from the '60s that my grandmother gave me. what is yours?
Although it might not qualify (since it was found in a bag from the bank instead of a roll from the bank) - the strangest thing I've found is a 14k gold men's wedding ring...
I suppose for me it would be a 1964 Swiss 10 Rappen piece in a penny roll. It's quite a bit larger then a penny, so it was rather strange.
I've never defrauded a bank, but if I ever did, I'd like to think I'd shoot for more than forty-eight cents at a time. Edit: come to think of it, can you even get washers for less than a penny apiece? I guess there's always stealing them from the workplace...
Creepiest for me was the German 5pf coin from 1942 or whatever that I found earlier this year. Finding a nazi coin in a cent roll was a bit disturbing.
I have probably half a dozen of them I have found in CWR and BWR - kind of strange in a BWR especially.
i have found plastic coins of all 6 denominations in rolls. 6 cents ,1 nickel, 2 dimes, 3 quarters, 1 half and 2 dollars. i wonder how they end up in those BWRs
I have to wonder that some of the companies like Brinks, Garda etc are loosening up their machines specifications for coins to tolerate more Canadian coins because I am getting steel 5 and 10c coins even in BWR lately. I think it is rather comical to find plastic play money in BWR - sort of an ironic commentary on how worthless the cent is.
