Lol WHAT are you talking about. Lol I am laughing out loud for real? Buying raw coins on ebay? I have bought tons of coins online. It can be done. You need to know what you are spending money on though. I only buy from sellers who only sell coins. As in, 3-4 people who sell 1k a month.

But to say that the buyer is wrong is wrong. Plain and simple. Again, i mention that he did not get what was listed. How again is that his fault. Its like a craigslist ad for a 2013 mazda6 and you get there and its a 1986...... except you paid for it with the "promise" it is what is listed

I heard back from the seller of the first one. He got confused apparently and pulled the images from his computer archives of his past purchases and ended up posting the pics of a different coin. I checked all of eBays current and completed auctions and also google images, and never found a stolen image. He was polite and apologized a few times, so I'll send the coin back, get a refund, & leave good feedback. Seems to be just a mistake.

    Perhaps you missed this part...

"How many times do hard luck stories have to be posted?"

I am quite sure his point was that it gets old listening to people who still decide to gamble and become upset when all is not as hoped, especially when this person knows better. Not to defend the sellers, and no offense to the OP, but both of these auctions were well within the highly questionable range, so it should be of no surprise if problems arise.

How about a lesson on not jumping to conclusions or making accusations on a coin forum until you've talked to the seller and the whole story is known?

Too good to be true is the key. Also, who knows if "just because he appoligized 10 times." it is true. Both sellers could have posted the coins and tried their luck at making a quick buck. Same as a dealership in my town who sells crap cars. If people were just honest, they would make more money from the customers who keep coming back.

Either way. IMO I wouldnt post a thread on myself being had. If there was a hint of myself being at fault, why want to put myself out there to have everyone know?

I am sure most would like to think so, but with a venue like ebay, it often is easier and more profitable to be dishonest (or at least skirt the truth) than it is to be upfront with people.

No kidding, which is the mindset you must have when buying. If you buy from a dealer at a show or shop, at least you know they are going to be more honest, but it is still key to have the knowledge to buy what you think you want.

You say "no kidding" as if this is common knowledge, but if it were, the near countless number of ebay dreck peddlers would not be in business, no less succeeding, now would they?

While said in response to you, my post was intended mostly for those who either do not understand this, or cannot seem to get it through their heads.

What I ment was your not kidding, as in I know this, and expect it sometimes. That is one reason I only buy from someone who sells often, more than once a week, or someone with nice pictures. I can tell a lot about the person from his ebay pictures.

I buy off ebay all the time. I only buy certified though. So far never been ripped off yet.(knock on wood). It's not the only place though.
