This was in a box of coins I just received. I have no clue what it is or if it even is a coin. Can any of you identify this or seen one before?
I agree on the Ottoman, but I'm having trouble finding an exact match. With these coins, there is always a main date, which is the year the ruler took over, and then there's the year of his reign, which you add to find the real date. The main date is 1223. If the year of the reign is where I think it is, I see an 8 but I don't recognize the other character. 1223 is 1808, and then you add whatever the other date is. Hopefully someone will come along and give you a better answer.

The link above says it's a imitation. Maybe a period counterfeit or later souvenir piece? Thanks for the info!
