1956d nickel with unknown(possible die chip) on left side of mint mark

    I would like some opinions on what that is coming out the vertical bar of the mint mark. Is it a die chip or something else? da.jpg d.jpg Image3899.jpg

    To me it looks like an RPM (D/D). I think what you are seeing is the top serif on the repunched "D."
