A friend of mine and her husband recently inherited what sounds like a relatively small collection of coins from his sister(her sister-in-law, obv); sounds like mostly circulated Buffalo Nickel, circulated Indian Cent and wheat pennies.. some silver, perhaps? She wasn't entirely sure what she had and I didn't feel comfortable asking her to shoot me a picture as they were going through her things at the time.

But, I did make it clear to her she probably doesn't have the means to retire, that wheat pennies typically don't go for much more than 2-3 cents a piece and so on.

She asked if I knew of any dealers in the OKC area and I don't. I barely know of any in the Des Moines area, let alone an 8 hour drive. So, I figured you guys would be the place to turn.. So, if you know of anyone who would shoot her straight, give her an idea of their value and then be willing to buy(as it sounds like they don't have any sentimental value to either of them), then I guess it wouldn't necessarily have to be a dealer, just a respected collector.

    Anyone have any good suggestions?

I would recommend either of 2 dealers . . . Marc Langston Rare Coins in Mannford, OK or Carter Numismatics in Tulsa, OK. Can't vouch for anyone in OKC, sorry.

Based on what they have to sell, you should send them a Red Book. They need to take a look at the dates and mint marks. A shop is not going to search the collection or offer much for the cents or nickels. It would be a shame for them to sell something special for only a few cents.
