I'm not sure about this one. The 1 is lower and the right side of the second 8 is allot larger. No visible marks or broken wing. Is it still possible to be an 8 over 7?

    nope, not the overdate.

Diagnostics include: tip of seven to the right top of 8. -- not there.

Dot in filed between date & eagle's belly -- not there.

and broken wing tip - not there.

So the second 8 is just an error?

    What do you see?
    I see a normal 8.

    With wear

The right side of the second 8 is allot fatter like the 7 is inside it. there is no wear on the date. If you click on the picture on the date you can clearly see the difference between the two 8's

The coin overall is worn. I would say the extra thickness you see can be attributed to wear/damage, not an error.

There are no scratches or damage to the date. the second 8 is is not shaped correctly. Yes The coin as a whole has wear which would make the details less fine. That would not make a number bigger and more noticeable if it was wore.

There wouldn't really be a mint error where a digit isn't "shaped correctly". General wear DOES cause parts of the design to become larger...just look at most heavily-circulated wheat cents, and you wear see that the date and letters look larger/more spread out because of circulation wear.
