I was in my CU as I posted in another thread and I saw that the teller had a $ 25.00 US mint roll of George Washington dollars that were not opened that a customer deposited.

I am not familiar with these coins and wanted to get your opinions if It is worth buying the roll from them? I left without it but will return tomorrow if its worth the purchasing. I mean I don't mind keeping a few for me but I don't need that many.

There is the very remote but still possible chance that you could find one without the edge lettering that plagued those coins then.

When I purchased my GW rolls from the Mint, I found one with "Partial Edge Lettering". I submitted it to NGC for the error as one of my freebies. It sold earlier this year for $217.27 (correction, old age!) on eBay.

Sure why not, you pay face value. If you don't like them, at least you've only lost a bit of time to find if you have anything interesting.

For face value, why not? I searched several thousand presidential dollars and didn't find anything interesting though.
