1955-d Washington Quarter

    Does anyone know what grade this coin is or how much its worth?

    At the very least, the coin is worth about $4.50 for silver content, but '55-D is a better date in BU, and especially so in very high mint state grades.

    The pictured example appears to be rather free of marks, but spotted, so it's not likely worth a lot.

    Also, the luster also appears subdued. Are we looking at a photo or a scan?

    Yeah, kinda hard to grade based on the photo, not sure what is going on in the neck region. Low mint number for 55-D, I'm seeing 3,182,400. You'd get a little premium over silver content from what I just looked at on fleabay, but cough it back after shipping and fees.

    It just looks like a bad image to me. I'll guess it grades 63 or 64. I'll also guess it looks much better in hand.
