Is it possible for a morgan dollar to have one side ( obv or rev ) be DMPL but the other side to be just like a regular buisness strike?
The term DMPL is used to describe a business strike with proof-like qualities and has nothing to do with the proof-making process. Yes, it is possible for a coin to have DMPL qualities on one side and not on the other because some dies wore out faster than others and needed to be replaced. Chris
I have a Morgan where the Obv looks PL and the reverse is normal. That is the main reason i picked it up. Graded as MS64 by NGC
