I work at a store, and this was handed to me as a quarter. We have had many people look at it, and no one can identify it. I have looked across the 'net with no help there. I think it is fake and some kind of game piece or token. Others in our area don't believe it is fake, including some very serious dealers. The size is a bit off, larger than a quarter and the reeded edge, is not there. It is smooth around the outer "sides". Now, while i didn't see this until I blew up the pic, and am pretty certain no one else did, the word "copy" in Georges hair is visible. I still want to know what this is, so I can end our discussion at work. thanks for any help!!

If you have a serious dealer that says its real, find out how much he will buy it from you for, even if he will only give a quarter, that's more than it worth. It is a very poor quality copy of the American Samoa quarter from the US states commemorative series. Samoa being a possession of the US got is own quarter same as Puerto Rico and Guam.

Thanks rdwarrior. Has anyone seen one before? Just wondering where it came from. I highly doubt anyone is counterfeiting quarters. Just doesn't make sense. If they are , you are right, it is very poor quality.

A serious dealer did not see the word COPY?
