I've already ordered my 2007 ASE graded by NGC MS69 from a ebay seller---I've done this for about 4 years and never have had a problem.

Hi Speedy. I would rather buy it from the mint and send it out, and hope it get's gradded ms70. Nine times out of ten it will come back ms69 anyway...

that's true. so never send for grading or buy graded coins. because, there were too many ms 69 and ms 70 for modern coins. unless you want to sell them.

Well I would agree but I know of no way to buy the normal UNC ASE from the mint---and the only way I do know is to buy them from my dealers or another dealer so that would cost around $15 and then grading cost $14.50 I think from NGC is $29.50 and I got this one for $23 + S&H. :D

the problem there is 50% of mint products (in my experience) need to be returned.

The mint has a schedule of the upcoming 2007 "Season" :hail:. They have the jamestown listed for 1/10. Just noticed the silver eagle uncirculated coins show March/april. So the dealears will get the first shot hu. Is this a first strike , first..whatever release plan/plot just curious. Kind of strange since we were able to purchace many uncirculated coins at the tail end of 2006.

Not really strange at all, isn't 2006 the first year out of 21 that the mint has sold uncirculated ASE's to the general public?

Ok thanks believe i understand now. We can purchase uncirculated coins from the mint but the bullion investment have to be purchased from dealears on the secoundary market. Does sound like a good investment for them.

My opion and my opion only, I am not really that crazy about the burnished coins. May be becouse they are new, and i am old, but they seem so dull compared to a nice uncirculated coin or should i say a bullion investment coin.

Do appreciate the information ND and I am not trying to be a smart butt, It just seems they are giving dealers a serious leg up on us common folks and we just kind of take what ever. I could be wrong been know to happen on rare, rare occasions. Just kidding and just my opion

Just think for a few dollars more you could have an SGS MS70 coin. Sorry I couldn't resist after voting in the poll in coin chat. :)

I usually wait a couple of months until they are in - then I can see what the auctions have done before buying. Of course I only started collecting graded ASE a few years ago. One of my few complete sets(except for that pesky 1995w - I do not count it though).

I check all proof sets and bullion items that I get. I have been buying from the US mint since the mid-80's and have returned exactly one coin - the uncirc $5 San Fran gold coin. This was the only damaged coin I have ever received. So I like the mint and if I had that kind of luck I would quit buying from them.

I'm surprised anyone wants to even be a distributor for the silver eagles. Minimum purchase is 50,000 oz or over $750,000. Your profit after wholesaling them will be around $25,000 less your expenses. Your net profit on a three quarter of a million dollar outlay will be maybe $15,000. A 2% return on investment. That's a serious leg up?
