What you are looking at is a business strike nickel minted in Philadelphia, for which there will not be a mint mark. Unfortunately, there is only a premium for a proof strike coin missing the S mint mark, minted in San Francisco. I recently found a 1970 "No S" Proof Roosevelt Dime...head on over to the Error Coins section and check that thread out. Make a note of the difference in the mirror-like appearance of the coin I found vs. the coin in your photograph.

    Hope that helps you out!

At least five cents. The Cherrypicker's Guide lists this coin at $160 in MS60 (the lowest uncirculated grade.) With pictures it would be possible to both confirm the OMM, assess an approximate grade, and determine a relative value for your coin.

    I haven't heard of a 1949-D OMM...are you sure you're not mixing it up with the 1944 D/S?
