Yes, the one on the left is a small date. However, there is a 99.99999% probability it is zinc, not copper. There aren't supposed to be any 1982-D small date coppers. The best way, and only 100% way, to tell the difference is by weight. The copper cents should weigh 3.11 grams & the zinc cents should weigh 2.5 grams.
