Conversely, anybody have a Formative Years design (LP2) error free?

The 09's were quite cool for moderns, but could have been done much better IMO. As with late Memorials, Lincoln looks like a cartoon character, and it would have been more of a honor for the mint to have started using the 2010 design a year earlier. The other thing was quality control; "die grease" was a big problem with these coins, and many otherwise very high grade examples were ruined by it. A challenge more difficult than finding a generic doubled die would be to try and locate a superb gem without spots. Sure, they are out there, but are less common than one might think.

Yet, I see no specific claim to all the errors, nor an error free example :p

What is interesting is the authorizing legislation DID call for the use of the 1909 design (The one used on the 2010) to be used on the 2009 cents but they didn't do it.

Thank you, sir. I was unaware that the original design could have been used; it is a shame that they did not do so.
