Yesterday morning, I stopped by the local tag office for my renewal. I noticed that the gentleman who manned the information desk had a nice display of Challenge Medals, and I complimented him on them. He retired as an Army CSM, and he asked if I collected them, too. I told him that I didn't; I did collect coins & medals, but some of my acquaintances on various forums did collect Challenge Medals. So, he opened a drawer of his desk, pulled out a couple of Challenge Medals and gave them to me. One is for the 4th Fighter Wing - Home of the RAF Eagle Squadrons - Seymour Johnson AFB - Goldsboro, North Carolina and the other is for the 16th MEDLOG BN - Republic of Korea - "Support to Health Care" What a nice, thoughtful gesture!
