This coin has been handed down in the family for many years. What is it and what is the approximate value?

Louis the sixteenth Ecu from 1789

 

I'm pretty sure it's a French coin, with Louis the XVI on it. Do some research on French coins from that period and you'll probably find something. Good luck!

 

the L signifies Bayonne Mint and it is .8693 oz. of silver.

I have not been able to find much on value yet. I did find where it was minted and that it is an L. It is in very good condition.

 

I have not been able to find any kind of value on this one? Does anyone have an idea?
