Okay, here's the last coin from my first ANACS submission (I've posted earlier threads for the gold, the Peace dollars, and the Barber halves). I actually posted a thread about this coin about a year ago, because I was concerned that it might not be genuine. It is, at least in the opinion of ANACS. So, what's the grade?
Agree with Brian. AU details would be my grade. But it doesn't seem to be too bothersome so maybe ANACS gave it a 55. Another reason to eliminate staples from coin collecting.
Looks like this is about all the traffic we're going to get. I'll maybe bump again tomorrow afternoon, and then post the grade tomorrow evening.
50-55 details very very nice coin and is a pity about the scratch. Would still love to have as nice an example in my collection
Well, ANACS said AU55 FH, a clean grade. I was actually expecting 58 details -- I was misinterpreting the texture of the walls on either side of Liberty, thinking they'd been scrubbed, and I frankly overlooked the scratch (this shot emphasizes it a lot compared to the coin's in-hand appearance). I have a very hard time seeing any luster breaks on the coin, but I'm (clearly) still trying to get the hang of this. Thanks again, everybody!
