I love it. How about XF-40? Gold is so soft and so hard to photograph, because marks which are invisable to the human eye show up in digital photography. I really like it Thanks for posting pictures.:high5: Ben
I think I see some wear but it might just be the photos---and gold is hard for me to grade also but I'm going to go with the same as Zane--AU55. Speedy
Thanks, Bone. Love to share with the fellas. This is now my oldest DE, and only my second type II. Zane and Speedy- you are really close to the grade given to it by NGC. I'll post a picture later after a few more folks have had a chance to respond.
BigsWick: That is one really nice DE! If you ever get tired of it, I'll forward my address for you to let me care for it, of course, I'll pay the postage! As for grade, it is very hard to tell from the pictures, but the color is great! Most of the obverse marks were probably made from the bag as it was being shipped from the mint to various locations. I am going to hazard a guess of either AU-58 or (possibly) MS-60. I hope that you did better (with NGC), that color both obv & rev is great! Congratulations!
How about AU-53. IMO, the Coronet design is one of the most beautiful ever produced by the mint. Thanks for posting it :thumb:
Thanks for the guesses, guys. We sure have some good graders here! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!
