Wanted to share my latest cherrypicking success...

    *3 silver quarters (1894S, 1913P, 1923P)
*1981 Proof Set w/ Type 2 nickel, dime, quarter, half, and dollar
*1981 Proof Set w/Type 2 nickel, dime, and dollar

No photos as my camera is at home...something going on with the S of the quarters. Will have to post photos of that once I get back...

$30 for everything. Hopefully going back tomorrow for Round 2. :)

Anybody have any thoughts on grade or value.

I'm thinking VF-35 to a possible XF-45 anybody seeing any concerning damage or problems like an old cleaning?

I've thought about an acetone bath also, anyone think that may help whatever that black stuff is? Or improve the overall general appearance of this coin?

    Beautiful coin!

I would avoid doing anything to it. Acetone might clear off some PVC if present, but a product like MS70 or a dip will completely wash it out. I'd leave it as is unless there was some active PVC contamination.

What about opinions on submitting to NGC?

Worth getting an 'official' grade for future resale?

    Will it grade?

    Etc

I definitely don't want to 'dip' the coin back to blast white. Just thought it could use a slight tidying up a bit.

I wouldn't do anything to it. Its a piece of art. The boat is in dark water with a light sky.

Agree with clutchy, I wouldn't touch it. It's got very attractive toning as is, at least to my eye it does.
You're much more likely to ruin it with a dipping or even a mild acetone bath.

It doesn't appear to be the 9/8 so no I don't think it would be worth slabbing.

The trade dollar is a beauty, but has everyone forgot about the OP? Where side you come across this deal?

Obviously that is information I cannot share...

    ;)

I do plan to make a return trip on Monday morning...so hopefully:

    a) the owner lets me poke through a large quantity of material
    b) the owner lets me purchase a large quantity of material
    c) I make good choices with the money I have

As for today, it's going to be a day of antique mall hopping, maybe find some gems in the rough...
