My poor geta, he gets tired of being posted so often.

Never had the desire to buy the child/teen portrait of him or his screwed up bro.

    Great Coin Steve!

Castor was the mortal twin of the Gemini (Dioscuri), his twin being Pollux, who was born a god.

He was the son of Tyndareus, and his twin was the son of Zeus.

Their mother was Leda, Queen of Sparta, who was also the mother of Helen (of Troy fame) and Clytemnestra, wife of Agamemnon.

Upon Castor's death, he was made a god because of Pollux's insistence and through some other events.

They are most famous for being the Gemini Constellation, which is what they became after Castor became a god.

No Geta for this guy yet but you all have some pretty awesome examples! There are too many 'must-haves' to get before Geta for me!

Neither of my Getas are pretty but they are both somewhat rare. RIC rates both simply R but I believe the as is more so.

I picked up this Geta last month while on vacation at Lake Tahoe. I bought it in Carson City of all places. Right across from the old CC mint building is a coin shop called Northern Nevada Coin.
Actually I was quite impressed with their selection of ancients. They had quite a selection for an outfit that bills itself as more of a "Wild West" oriented LCS and prime purveyor of CC mint Morgan Dollars.
