So as a beginner coin collector ive been trying to save money on my coins, so i started roll hunting. I havent had much luck yet. out of the 6 months ive been doing roll hunting i may have gotten 50 wheat pennies (sounds like a lot but it really isnt), 1 wartime nickel, 1 silver dime and ZERO silver quarters, and 2 silver halves (90%). I need funding for my coin hunting so i decided to look for silver and then sell what i find. That leads me to my question, where is there most silver to be found? Say i had 500 dollars which coin denomination should i invest my money and time into?
    Thanks,
    Ace

Nickels, Dimes, Halves. I search cents only in desparation - but sometimes get lucky like three weeks or so ago finding a 1903 IHC in a CWR.

We use all sorts of abbreviations - BWR is bank wrapped roll.

bryantallard show me the money....so i can look through it

all denominations have treasures to find. in only use 500 as well. sometimes I get quarters, but I also look for errors. dimes is strictly for silver (for me) although I look for the 82 no MM. nickels have 35% silver and errors. if you get into error coins then I say definitely do cents once in a while. have found over 15 72 ddo's, none the 001 or 004 :-( 2 1971 P ddo's . 2 95 P ddo's IH and lots of wheat pennies. so I learned about the error's so that I could sell them to buy nice silver coins.

I figure that you’re going to have a high failure rate with CRHing whatever you’re looking through, so you might as well look through everything. What I’ve been doing is: I get rolls of dollars and halves from one bank that agreed to keep boxes of them on hand for me. I search those and take them to the next bank where I deposit them and withdraw quarters. I search those and, if I still have the free time left over, take them to yet another bank where I deposit them and get dimes. If you have the time and inclination you could continue with nickels and cents, but I usually don’t. Eventually I go to a final bank where I just deposit, and then I start over the next week at the first bank. So I use the first bank for withdrawals only, the last bank for dump only, and a few other banks in between as change-down banks and recycle that currency to maximize the amount and variety of rolls searched.
