Well, lets hope it went to someone smart who will send it to pcgs and not to someone who just thought they were cool shiny coins and is gonna get his limbs all over the coins.

You know, I actually saw that one come up, and it didn't make it through my mental filter. :( I think I subconsciously categorized it as yet another polished-to-heck year set; completely missed the fact that it was in a Capital proof holder.

Wonder who got it? Might be interesting to watch for feedback on it...

its so sad to see someone sell their stuff so cheap the coins must be stolen or inherited, but why not research the value before putting a BIN price!!!! OMGGGG I'm going to be sick!

Click on "other items" near the top of the page to see a list of the other things he's got for sale, then look near the bottom of the left-hand navigation bar for "Completed Items" and "Sold Items".

I'd be camping out on his new listings at this point, but it looks like he's done for the time being. I expect he's getting a barrage of "Got anything else for sale?" messages about now...

ONE very unhappy buyer -- a frustrated flipper, from the looks of things. Sometimes wins really ARE too good to be true.

The winning bidder is speculating about under-the-table offers, but I wonder if someone simply felt bad for the seller and explained that they were selling at 1/10 of market value...

If you can get 1941 proof sets for less than $175, please buy them all up, and I'll happily pay you $175 each for them.

But I guess to do that you'd have to take time away from posting negative comments on every thread you can find, so it's probably not going to happen.

did you check the sellers feedback? my guess is that nobody really got the proof set for $175.00. and as for negative comments, life is negative. i guess most people just can't accept much reality. and as for anybody on here buying the proof sets for $175.00, i doubt that would ever happen. even if somebody really did offer them for that price. from what i can tell most on here would just ask a bunch of questions about the coins, ect. and then never buy any of the coins. they would just pretend to want to buy them and then not buy anything. they only want to buy coins on ebay, why is that?
