I have this copper bullion coin that was not struck. Is it worth any thing. I has a rim in case you were wondering.
Weight, dimensions and pic. Without those, we cannot tell you anything more than that you have a slug with no value.
It is 38.65 mm across. It weighs: exactly one ounce. Here are the photos. The front: The back: The edge: I bought this coin directly from the mint in a box of 250 coins and this was found. So it is not a fake.
Your pick looks like an unstruck cent. But 1.5 inches (38.65 mm) in diameter? 1 ounce? What was the box of 250 coins supposed to contain? Cents? Nickels? Quarters? Were they rolled or loose?
The only 250 coin boxes that I'm aware of that the US Mint sells are dollar coins. This is much bigger than a dollar planchet and bigger than the 1-5/16 medals.
Sounds like it is a copper round from some private mint that makes them. Am I right? If that's the case, I would say your 1oz copper round is worth whatever an ounce of copper is worth.
in the OP's first post he or stated that this was a copper bullion coin that was not struck . this means that the entire box was probably the copper bullion 1 oz. pieces or the op would not have known what he or she had.I'm thinking that this unstruck one is probably only worth what 1 oz. of copper is worth.
OP also stated "I bought this coin directly from the mint in a box of 250 coins and this was found. So it is not a fake." So, again, I ask, what were the other 249 coins? And I add, does the mint sell 1 oz. bullion?
